Elise Haveman
Tumbling and Children's Dance Instructor
Elise is a junior at the University of Iowa studying dance pedagogy alongside a minor in English. She began taking dance lessons at a young age and felt God calling her to continue investing in this passion into college. Growing up, Elise took classes in the ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, lyrical, contemporary, hip-hop, and open genres.
Since college, Elise has also taken a modern dance class as well as a hip-hop class and jazz class that went through the evolution of the two genres. She is especially excited and looking forward to this upcoming semester where she will continue to learn more about dance through ballet and contemporary movement classes as well as functional anatomy and dance production.
Beyond personally enjoying dance, Elise also fell in love with teaching it during her high school years at the Christian dance studio she grew up at. She started by teaching an aerial silks class, then also taught a beginner’s dance class and finally a beginner’s gymnastics and tumbling class as well. Getting to work with people and share her love and passion for dance with them is one of the greatest blessings God has given her.
